Adorable picture of man chatting to his elderly dad through a care home window goes viral

A TOUCHING moment between a man and his elderly father has gone viral as he’s seen chatting to his dad through a care home window.

The poignant picture was shared online and shows the lengths the man would go to in order to spend time with his dad after the aged-care facility was put in lockdown.

A woman witnessed a beautiful moment between an aged-care resident and his son who sits by the window after the facility is put under lockdown

Sandy Hamiliton, from Minnesota USA, works at the aged-care facility that is currently on lockdown as public health officials enforce social distancing to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

While on shift, she witnessed the beautiful moment between the father – a resident at the facility – and his son who visits him every single day and decided to share it on social media.

Capturing the moment on camera, the photo revealed the elderly man sitting in an armchair inside his room while his son sat outside the window – as they spoke on the phone to one another.

Touched by the heart-warming gesture, Sandy felt it was necessary to share on Facebook so that others were able to witness to beautiful moment between the pair.

She explained: “My assisted living is on lockdown,  so he comes every day to see his dad and they talk through the phone – sweetest thing ever”.

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM CORONAVIRUS

The primary way to protect yourself is to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds regularly and effectively, especially before you eat, and as soon as you come into your house or workplace.

If soap and water is not available you can use hand sanitiser. You should also avoid touching your face, and try and keep a distance from anyone coughing and sneezing around you.

If you show symptoms, you are advised to self-isolate for a week to ensure you do not spread it to others.

Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, ideally into a tissue, which you should then throw away — catch it, kill it, bin it.

One woman wrote: ” So sweet!!! I hope one day someone loves me that much. What a good son!”

While a second said: ” Love conquers all!”

With a third added: “What a wonderful son you are ! Warms my heart”

More than 1,300 British people have now tested positive for the disease, but the actual number of people infected is likely to be far higher.

From this week, millions of UK workers have been told to stay home as UK coronavirus cases hit 1,543 and death toll surges to 55 -including Nick Matthews, 59, the youngest UK victim.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has confirmed Brits over 70 are likely to be asked to self-isolate for up to four months in the coming weeks.
